Executive Chairman of SEESARI Peter Verlič participated at ICTS – International Conference on Traffic Science. He pointed out, that South-Eastern Europe, and in particular the countries of the Western Balkans, where we share a common transport past, have great potential for growth in freight and passenger transport if we know how to seize the opportunities offered by European railway research programs under the new EU financial perspective. SEESARI is actively involved in a completely new project so called digital automatic coupling of trains, as they will no longer need to be coupled manually, but automatically, and all processes will be digitally monitored and controlled, all together will mean savings in time of manipulation and labor required. Slovenia can become a leader in the region in this field by engaging in the SEESARI initiative.
