Mr. Peter Verlič represented Slovenske železnice at the 54th IBS Congress, held on 16–17 April 2026 in Zagreb, Croatia. The event, organised by the International Rail Freight Business Association (IBS), brought together key stakeholders from the rail, logistics, and port sectors across the Balkan region and beyond.
The congress focused on the development of multimodal and rail transport, with particular emphasis on strengthening regional cooperation, improving rail freight services, and enhancing infrastructure capacity. Participants exchanged insights on current challenges and explored strategic opportunities for future growth in South-East Europe.
During the event, Mr. Verlič engaged in discussions with industry representatives and contributed to the exchange of best practices and ideas aimed at advancing the competitiveness and sustainability of rail freight transport.
The 54th IBS Congress once again proved to be an important platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and fostering closer collaboration among regional partners in the logistics and transport sector.
